Unfortunately not all of preemies survive. Guild members have been active for several years in providing gowns and bonnets for these tiny babies, who are too small for retail newborn clothing. The gowns are donated to St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis and are used as funeral garments or keepsakes for the parents who select cremation. The hospital gives the family a memory box with their preemie quilt,  and photos of the child dressed in the gown. Patterns for the gown and bonnet are available at guild meeting.
